Российский след в судьбе Умберто Нобиле

Умберто Нобиле - известный итальянский дирижаблестроитель. С 1932 до 1936 Умберто Нобиле работал в Москве. Несколько дирижаблей, включая самый большой советский дирижабль "СССР B-6 Осоавиахим", были разработаны и построены под его наблюдением. Умберто Нобиле помнил эти пять лет, проведенных в России как один из лучших периодов в его жизни.

Umberto Nobile is a well-known Italian airship-builder, head of the "Norway" airship in R.Amundsen's expedition(1926), head of the Italian expedition to the North pole on the "Italy" airship(1928). This airship got crushed when returning. The crew was rescued by the Soviet ice-breaker "Krasin". From 1932 through 1936 Umberto Nobile worked in Moscow. Several airship, including the biggest Soviet airship "USSR B-6 OSOVIAHIM", were designed and built under his supervision. Umberto Nobile remembered the five years spent in Russia as one of the best periods in his life.
